We spent our first weekend in New Zealand traveling to Wellington (more specifically, Upper Hutt) for the NZ Ultimate Frisbee Mixed Nationals.
The weather was some of the most inclement that we've ever played in (think 100kph winds and horizontal rain), but we had a great time getting to know our team and learning how frisbee is played in NZ (spoiler: they love their vertical stack here). We ended up finishing in 6th out of 16 teams, despite the fact that the wind always seemed to gust the most when we had possession of the disc, and would then calm right down after we turned it over. Funny how that happens!
